How to get to Mini-Europe

Mini-Europe is not in the old town. It sits at Bruparck on the Heysel plateau, about 5 km north of the Grand-Place, beside the Atomium. Metro line 6 gets you there in about 15 minutes from the centre; the hop-on hop-off bus is slower and, in autumn, infrequent.

The Heysel plateau holds the Atomium, Mini-Europe, the Kinepolis cinema, the King Baudouin Stadium and the Brussels Expo halls. Mini-Europe's entrance is in Bruparck, the leisure area at the foot of the Atomium (official address: Bruparck, 1020 Laeken). If you can see the Atomium, you are five minutes away.

Routes and stops below come from Mini-Europe's access page, the Atomium's directions and the Tootbus timetable, checked in October 2026.

The quick answer

Take metro line 6 (direction Roi Baudouin) to Heysel, then walk about five minutes past the Atomium. From Gare du Midi there is no change; from De Brouckère take line 1 and change at Beekkant. A single STIB ticket costs €2.40, and a contactless bank card works at the gates.

Where exactly is Mini-Europe?

In Bruparck, on the Heysel plateau in Laeken, in the north of the City of Brussels, at the foot of the Atomium.

From Heysel metro station you walk towards the Atomium, which you cannot miss, and continue a few minutes into Bruparck. Kinepolis, the large cinema at Boulevard du Centenaire 20, is the landmark next to the entrance area; the Viator private tour uses it as a meeting point. The Atomium says the walk from its base to Mini-Europe is 150 metres.

Coming out of Heysel metro station, the Atomium is straight ahead above the trees. Walk towards it along Boulevard du Centenaire, pass the Atomium's ticket pavilion on your right, and carry on into Bruparck. Cyclists can use the Villo! shared bikes: the Atomium's page lists Villo! station 281 by the monument.

Allow for the scale of the site on event days. Big matches at the King Baudouin Stadium and fairs at Brussels Expo fill the trams, the metro and the street parking. On those days the metro is still the quickest way in, but leave earlier.

How do you get to Mini-Europe by metro?

Metro line 6 to Heysel, direction Roi Baudouin. Trains run every 6 to 10 minutes and a single ticket costs €2.40.

Line 6 is the only metro line to Heysel. It runs round the inner ring of central Brussels (stations including Gare du Midi, Arts-Loi and Rogier) and then heads north to its terminus, Roi Baudouin. Heysel is the stop before the end. Make sure the train shows Roi Baudouin (Koning Boudewijn in Dutch), not Elisabeth.

From the Grand-Place, the Atomium's own directions are the simplest: walk to De Brouckère, take line 1 towards Gare de l'Ouest, change at Beekkant on the same platform (cross to the other side), and take line 6 to Heysel. The Atomium puts that trip at about 15 minutes; allow 30 door to door.

Since 1 February 2026 a STIB single ticket costs €2.40 (RTBF). You do not need to buy a paper ticket: tap a contactless bank card, phone or watch on the grey validators, as the STIB network accepts them in the metro, trams and buses. Tap again each time you board or change lines.

Is the hop-on hop-off bus a good way to get there?

Only in summer. From October to 3 January 2027 the Tootbus Atomium shuttle leaves Central Station every two hours, with the last departure at 16:00.

Tootbus runs two routes in Brussels: the Red route round the centre and the Blue "Atomium shuttle", which goes from Central Station (33 Rue du Cardinal Mercier) via Rogier to the Atomium and back through De Brouckère. Mini-Europe says to get off at stop 5, Atomium, and walk five minutes. One ticket covers both routes for 24, 48 or 72 hours, with audio commentary in 11 languages and a kids' channel.

The timetable is what decides it. From April to August the shuttle runs every hour until 18:15. From 1 October 2026 to 3 January 2027 it runs every two hours, first at 10:00 and last at 16:00. Miss one bus and you wait two hours, or take the metro anyway. Buses do not run on 21 July.

The bus earns its place if you want the city sights the same day and like an open top deck. The Tootbus ticket on GetYourGuide starts at $28, and Tootbus also sells a one-day bus and Mini-Europe combo at €46.90 for adults (€29.90 for children 4 to 12), with free changes up to 24 hours before. The bus and Ferris wheel combo ($33) adds a ride on The View instead.

Both Tootbus routes, including the Atomium shuttle to Mini-Europe, with audio commentary and a kids' channel.

Can you drive and park at Mini-Europe?

Yes, but the park has no car park of its own. Parking T costs €12 a day, street meters about €2 to €3 an hour, and Brussels is a low emission zone.

Mini-Europe's FAQ points drivers to Parking T, entered from Avenue de l'Impératrice Charlotte, at a fixed €12 a day; you pay at the building in the middle of the car park. Street parking around the Atomium is metered seven days a week, at about €2 to €3 an hour. On expo and stadium days Parking T fills with event traffic.

The whole Brussels-Capital Region is a low emission zone (LEZ). Foreign-registered cars must be registered before entering, even if they meet the standards. Registration on lez.brussels is free; driving in without it risks a €150 fine. Disabled drivers with a parking card on the dashboard park free in the reserved spaces on Avenue des Athlètes and Avenue du Football, the closest to the entrance.

What about the train, the airport and a private car?

Take the train to Brussels and the metro from there. A private guide-driver is the only door-to-door option sold with tickets.

Buy a Mini-Europe ticket online on the park's site and you get a code for an SNCB Discovery ticket: up to 40% off a return to Brussels from anywhere in Belgium. From Brussels-South (Gare du Midi), line 6 takes you straight to Heysel. From Brussels Airport, take the train to Brussels-North or Brussels-South and change to the metro. Flibco, which runs shuttles from both airports, also offers a Door2Gate service to any Brussels address, including Mini-Europe.

For a family, a private guide-driver is the comfortable option: pickup from your hotel, the Atomium and Mini-Europe with tickets, and five hours in all, from $392. The Viator private tour (from $241, varies by group size) has a guide but no transport; you meet in front of Kinepolis. Both are new and have no reviews yet. The combo guide explains how to fit both sights into one day.
